The Proof

In the name of GOD, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

bis'mi l-lahi l-raḥmāni l-raḥīm

Those who disbelieved among the people of the scripture, as well as the idol worshipers, insist on their ways, despite the proof given to them.

لَمْ يَكُنِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ مُنفَكِّينَ حَتَّىٰ تَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَةُ

lam yakuni alladhīna kafarū min ahli l-kitābi wal-mush'rikīna munfakkīna ḥattā tatiyahumu l-bayinat

A messenger from GOD is reciting to them sacred instructions.

رَسُولٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ يَتْلُوا۟ صُحُفًا مُّطَهَّرَةً

rasūlun mina l-lahi yatlū ṣuḥufan muṭahharata

In them there are valuable teachings.

فِيهَا كُتُبٌ قَيِّمَةٌ

fīhā kutubun qayyimatu

In fact, those who received the scripture did not dispute until the proof was given to them.

وَمَا تَفَرَّقَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَةُ

wamā tafarraqa alladhīna ūtū l-kitāba illā min baʿdi mā jāathumu l-bayinat

All that was asked of them was to worship GOD, devoting the religion absolutely to Him alone, observe the contact prayers (Salat), and give the obligatory charity (Zakat). Such is the perfect religion.

وَمَآ أُمِرُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ حُنَفَآءَ وَيُقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُؤْتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَذَٰلِكَ دِينُ ٱلْقَيِّمَةِ

wamā umirū illā liyaʿbudū l-laha mukh'liṣīna lahu l-dīna ḥunafāa wayuqīmū l-ṣalata wayu'tū l-zakata wadhālika dīnu l-qayimat

Those who disbelieved among the people of the scripture, and the idol worshipers have incurred the fire of Gehenna forever. They are the worst creatures.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ فِى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمْ شَرُّ ٱلْبَرِيَّةِ

inna alladhīna kafarū min ahli l-kitābi wal-mush'rikīna fī nāri jahannama khālidīna fīhā ulāika hum sharru l-bariyat

Those who believed and led a righteous life are the best creatures.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمْ خَيْرُ ٱلْبَرِيَّةِ

inna alladhīna āmanū waʿamilū l-ṣāliḥāti ulāika hum khayru l-bariyat

Their reward at their Lord is the gardens of Eden with flowing streams, wherein they abide forever. GOD is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. Such is the reward for those who reverence their Lord.

جَزَآؤُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّٰتُ عَدْنٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا رَّضِىَ ٱللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا۟ عَنْهُ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَنْ خَشِىَ رَبَّهُۥ

jazāuhum ʿinda rabbihim jannātu ʿadnin tajrī min taḥtihā l-anhāru khālidīna fīhā abadan raḍiya l-lahu ʿanhum waraḍū ʿanhu dhālika liman khashiya rabbah
