The Quake

In the name of GOD, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

bis'mi l-lahi l-raḥmāni l-raḥīm

When the earth is severely quaked.

إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا

idhā zul'zilati l-arḍu zil'zālah

And the earth ejects its loads.

وَأَخْرَجَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا

wa-akhrajati l-arḍu athqālah

The human will wonder: "What is happening?"

وَقَالَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مَا لَهَا

waqāla l-insānu mā lah

On that day, it will tell its news.

يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا

yawma-idhin tuḥaddithu akhbārah

That your Lord has commanded it.

بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَىٰ لَهَا

bi-anna rabbaka awḥā lah

On that day, the people will issue from every direction, to be shown their works.

يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصْدُرُ ٱلنَّاسُ أَشْتَاتًا لِّيُرَوْا۟ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ

yawma-idhin yaṣduru l-nāsu ashtātan liyuraw aʿmālahu

Whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it.

فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُۥ

faman yaʿmal mith'qāla dharratin khayran yarah

And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it.

وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُۥ

waman yaʿmal mith'qāla dharratin sharran yarah
